Indian Railways inaugurated a new semi-high-speed train service between Mumbai and Pune today, reducing travel time to just 2 hours. The Vande Bharat Express will run six days a week, covering 192 kilometers at speeds up to 160 km/h. According to the Ministry of Railways, the service is expected to boost connectivity and economic activity in Maharashtra. This marks the third route for the Vande Bharat trains, following Delhi-Varanasi and Chennai-Coimbatore. The train features modern amenities such as onboard Wi-Fi and bio-vacuum toilets. Officials said ticket bookings opened this morning and have seen strong demand, reported ANI.
